Beacons, as implemented, make no sense

A beacon is meant to make it easy to locate and move to a given location. I placed two beacons on each end of the tunnel taking me from Level 1 to Level 2. The beacons provide no mechanism to implement an ID. The beacons are not visible on the map. There are pings but nothing that really tells you where the hell the beacon is located. As such the only use they are is that when you are at a location and a beacon is there you can see it sending out white waves. But that means you still have to search for the bugger.

Expected behavior:

Place a beacon at a location. Look at the beacon and Manage E pops up. Hit E and enter an identifier in the screen. When looking at the map white indicators are shown on the map.

Yeah I feel like it should be like the decoded radio transmissions shows up on your hud and can be named so you can actually mark things.

@darksceptor My sense of direction is not great. I find it very easy to get lost. Crafted beacons thinking they would help, but they turned out disappointingly useless. Just need a way to give them initials and a color and have them show up like objective markers.

Yeah, they are pointless currently.
I was using them, before they added the repair ((XX)) hud icons, to mark locked doors.

You should also be able to name them.


There is a little ping on the small compass below the Echo Sketch. But even then, that is way to hard to figure out and to actually follow. [My suggestion] Would be to make like a tool that can PING beacons to become visible in your game. (I understand that having too many pings on can distract from actual points of interests.) So, that's why the tool.
